For this study, a total of 30 respondents (college girls) were selected through random sampling technique. Consumer acceptance of the prepared one piece dresses was studied. The dresses were evaluated on the basis of drape, design, decorative features and overall appearance. Profit margin of the prepared dresses was also calculated. The data collected revealed that majority of the respondents preferred dress G5 on the basis of drape. Dress G15 was given first rank on the basis of design, decorative features and overall appearance. It was easy to earn 30 per cent profit on all the dresses and consumers found the quoted price as adequate.Keywords

For this study, a total of 90 respondents (college girls) were selected through purposive random sampling technique. Preferences of college gilrs for fabrics, colours, designs, length, flare and other designing features in one piece dresses were taken. The data collected revealed that majority of the respondents preferred georgette and satin fabric of off white colour for one piece dresses. Medium length of one piece dresses was preferred by maximum number of the respondents. It was observed that embroidery was preferred as surface embellishments by the respondents. For flare in one piece dresses pleats were given first rank by respondents.Keywords

With the aim to determine the effect of inorganic and biofertilizers, alone and in combination, on nutrient uptake of Dalbergia sissoo seedlings, an experiment was conducted comprising all possible thirty-six combinations of three levels of nitrogen, three levels of phosphorus and four biofertilizers levels. Globally, breast feeding has the potential to prevent about 800,000 deaths among children under five each years if all children 0-23 months were optimally breastfed. Early initiation of breast feeding could prevent about one fifth of neonatal deaths, but less than half of infants are put to the breast within one hour of birth. So the present study was planned to know the breast feeding practices and the sociodemographic factors influencing the feeding practices among the mothers of one year old children. A community based cross sectional study was conducted in the urban field practice area of the Department of Community Medicine of SGRD Institute of Medical Sciences and Research among the mothers having less than one year old child. There were total recorded 263 mothers having less than one year old child. Information about demographic profile, breast feeding practices and socio cultural factors affecting the feeding practices was collected using a pre-tested and predesigned proforma. Out of total 257 mothers were willing to participate in the study. Statistical analysis was done by using SPSS 20.0. It was observed that 53.7% mothers started breast feeding next day, 30.4% mothers started breast feeding the same day and 16% started breast feeding immediately. Prelacteal feed was given by 89.5% mothers. The common prelacteal feed given was honey (67.3%) followed by sugar in water (14.0%), jaggery (12.8%) and others (5.8%). Colostrum was given by 59.1% of mothers. The study shows that cultural practices such as giving prelacteal feed, discarding colostrums and late initiation of breast feeding are still prevalent in the community. These should be discouraged by providing health education and through BCC activities.Keywords

Image compression is a important issue for many applications in the area of multimedia communication, the objective being reduction of storage and transmission costs. Various types of techniques have been developed for various applications. Digital images are large in size and occupy large space. There large size deals with two types of problems, first is large bandwidth requirements and other is of more time required for uploading and downloading through internet. We can compress audio signals, video signal, text, fax and images. For medical images lossless compression is used and for other types lossy compression can be used. For compressing an image, use DCT (Discrete Cosine Transform) technique. During recovering original image from compressed image occurs various problems like blocking artifacts, ringing artifacts, blur artifacts or edge artifacts are observed. However quantification of these artifacts is a different task. In this paper discuss various conventional filters, which is used to reduce artifacts in compressed images. The experimental results are illustrating the performance of conventional filters on the basis of MSE and PSNR.Keywords

In the following work RAM_Write_Control module has been designed and its performance has been analyzed in terms of utilization of power and energy in order to make it energy and power efficient. The main idea behind this unit is to control the data write operation to the core which is used for saving the raw data in impedance measurement module of Electrical Impedance Tomography (EIT) system, KHU Mark 2.5. The performance of the unit is analyzed using 14.2 version of Xilinx software at Virtex-5 FPGA chip. The total power consumption of 3 logic families HSTL (High Speed Transceiver Logic), LVCMOS (Low Voltage Metal Oxide Semiconductor) and LVTTL (Low Voltage Transistor-Transistor Logic) at different I/O Standards have been compared in order to excrete out the most energy efficient logic family. Frequency scaling technique has also been applied by varying the frequencies at a scale of 100 Hz i.e., from 400MHz to 500 MHz to 600 MHz to 700 MHz in a way to find out the most power efficient frequency. It has been observed minimum power consumption occurs in case if we use LVCOMS15 I/O standard of LVCMOS logic family in comparison to other IO standards of other 2 logic families. And this maximum power savage occurs at a lowest frequency of 400 MHz.Keywords

Objective: This paper tries to devise a new algorithm based on ACO as well as multipath routing in Adhoc Multipath Distance Vector (AOMDV) environment. Methods/Statistical Analysis: Routing is a technique of transmitting data from source node to the destination node. Path breaks frequently in MANET due to the moving nodes. Multipath Routing presents a solution towards this problem, because of the presence of alternative paths. So, communication does not halt. Ant Colony Optimization (ACO) is a newer field of swarm intelligence to tackle optimization problems. Findings: The new algorithm is named A-AOMDV and is compared with other multipath and unipath protocols. Some of the performance metrics are chosen to compare and evaluate the new routing algorithm with traditional algorithms like Throughput, Jitter, Number of packets send, End to End Delay, Packet Lost, Delivery Ratio. Based upon the obtained results, the comparison graphs have also been made while evaluating parameters. The results are very encouraging and the new algorithm has outperformed other algorithms used for the purpose of comparison. Applications: Data communication can take place through alternative paths using efficient multipath routing protocol and easily tackle problems of disconnections during data communication.Keywords

Professions within the healthcare industry are becoming increasingly violent places in which to work with healthcare professionals being common targets for violent and aggressive behaviour. Aggression and violence negatively impact both workplace and its employees. For the organization, greater financial costs can be incurred due to increased absences, early retirement and reduced quality of care and it is mainly due to violence. For the healthcare worker however, psychological damage, such as post-traumatic stress, can result in addition to a decrease in job motivation.
The present study was conducted to assess the prevalence of violence by patients and their relatives towards staff nurses and to identify knowledge and utilization of safety resources among 100 staff nurses in Guru Nanak Dev Hospital of Amritsar (Punjab) with convenient sampling technique. All the staff nurses experienced assault during their duty hours mostly in the morning shift mainly in the wards. Most of them had average/poor knowledge about safety resources and unfavourable utilization of safety resources.
In conclusion, nurses are facing violence by patients and their relatives and hence they need to enhance knowledge and use of safety resources towards violence to combat violence.

Public borrowing is one of the major instruments of resource mobilization which direct the flow of resources into right channels, especially in case of developing economies. In case of India, the issue of states' debt has assumed a great attention since mid 90's due to the severe deterioration in the fiscal health of states. Increasing Fiscal imbalances and public debt pose risks to the prospects for stability and growth of the economy. In order to tackle these issues, it is imperative to analyze the kind of relationship that exists among these variables. The rationale behind this paper is to empirically analyze the relationship between economic growth and internal debt at Punjab state level. But an attempt has been made in the present study to examine the impact of public debt on economic growth. The study is based on regular time series data for a period of 22 years (i.e. from 1990-91 to 2011-12) in respect of Punjab economy. Grangers' causality analysis has been worked out to examine the cause and effect relationship between economic growth and public debt. Furthermore multiple linear regressions have been worked out to investigate the relationship between economic growth and public debt. Various studies have shown mixed impact of public debt on economic growth. There has been difference of opinions among researches for developing and developed economies. There are contrasting views on the positive and negative impact of public debt on economic growth, the present study has provided evidences for the positive relationship of public debt and economic growth. As per the findings of the study, a statistically significant and positive relationship between GSDP and outstanding liabilities has been observed.Keywords

Study revealed that economic self-independence and promotion of saving were the major purposes of the respondents while forming self-help groups (SHGs). Football making, dairy, tailoring etc. were the major activities started by the beneficiaries of the SGSY programme in the area under study. About half of the respondents faced problems in loan sanctioning procedure. VLWs, BDO officials and other concerned personnel were found the major recipients of bribe. Majority of the respondents had more access to the credit facility after joining the SHGs. Dependence on money lenders was reduced to 29% from 91% which indicates towards the positive role of SHGs in rural areas. Majority of them started saving between Rs.200-800 per month. Half of the sampled respondents were able to create assets under SGSY. However 1/4th of the respondents diverted the loan to some other purposes. Some of the problems such as excessive stress due to dual responsibility, too many formalities in the banking procedure, marketing problems and lack of training were felt by the respondents, yet beneficiaries of SGSY programme indicated toward economic and social betterment after joining the self-help groups.- Energy Efficient ARABIC Unicode Reader Design on FPGA

Objectives: This paper proposes an Energy Efficient ARABIC Unicode Reader design on FPGA. Methods/Statistical Analysis: Two types of energy efficient techniques such as Frequency Scaling and FPGA technology scaling have been used to make the device energy and power efficient. In the frequency scaling technique the frequency of device has been varied from 1MHz to 1THz; whereas, in FPGA scaling technique the power consumption of the device at two FPGA technologies(Artix-7 and Virtex-6) has been compared in order to identify the most energy efficient technology at least power consumed frequency. Findings: In this Unicode reader, results have been analyzed using X Power Analyzer. Different types of tables have been created for different range of frequencies showing different power dissipation values. It has been observed that 99.67% of total power can be saved in case of Artix-7 while operating the device at a frequency of 1MHz instead of 1 THz and in case of Virtex-6 98.5% of total power can be saved while operating the device at a frequency of 1MHz instead of 1 THz. So it has been concluded that more amount of power has been dissipated in case of Virtex-6 FPGA technology in which the length of channel is 45nm in comparison to Artix-7 in which length of channel is 28nm. Also it is advisable to operate the device at a low range of frequencies in order to have less power consumption. Application/ Improvements: Conclusions drawn from the analysis will be helpful in making the device more power efficient as compared to the existing ones. It comes out to be a step towards Go-Green Mission in order to serve the humanity.Keywords

Objectives: The main objectives of this work are to enable mobile nodes predict the switch off states of Hard Disk and other electronic components using APRIORI algorithm which has pre-mined list of timings of every request to be serviced by the node. Methods/Statistical Analysis: The application of this Algorithm is shown via Simulink (MATLAB). We use a Sequence generator of variable inputs (on/off) signals which controls the load circuit of the simulated node. The input of the sequence generator is defined by an example depicting a Mobile Node traversal and represented by a Table residing in the memory of the node. The table values are mined using preset values of Confidence and Support as in APRIORI algorithm. The data set used in the simulation represents all cases of the Algorithm in real time. Findings: Controlling the switch off states using pre-mined data values based on frequent item sets enables a Mobile Node to effectively decide the switch off states or power saving states for various electronic hardware, which includes Hard Disk. The Main power drawn in Hard Disk is by the Motor of the cylinder which if turned off and on (Spin UP/Spin DOWN) effectively will result in more efficient battery savings for each Mobile Node as compared to Adaptive and Threshold based Spin UP/ Spin DOWN based policies. Applications/Improvements: Since the switch timings decided by the algorithm entirely depend on mined values, application of better data mining techniques will result in more efficient battery operation.Keywords

An energy efficient Telugu Unicode Reader has been designed in the following research paper. Telugu Unicode reader design has range of characters from 0C00-0C7F. It is most spoken script for Telugu people. This script is also used for writing Sanskrit texts. Telugu script shares many similarities with the Kannada script and is derived from old Kannada script. In the following paper Telugu Unicode reader code has been implemented on Xilinx ISE design suit 14.2. and is synthesized on Virtex-6 and Artix-7 FPGA technology by applying frequency scaling technique. This Unicode reader design is synthesized on different frequencies of 1THz, 100GHz, 10GHz, 10GHz, 1GHz, 100MHz, 10MHz, 1MHz. This Telugu Unicode reader can detect vowels, consonants, digits etc of Telugu language.Keywords

The present study was undertaken to study the attitude of B.Ed. students towards E-Learning. For this investigation, a self constructed and standardized attitude scale was used to study attitude and personal data sheet including name of subject, name of college, locale ( urban/rural ), stream ( Science, humanities), gender ( male, female ) was prepared by the investigator. Preliminary draft of the attitude scale was given to 10 lecturers and 50 students of B.Ed Colleges. Content validity was found out. Test retest method was used to find out reliability and sample of 120 students were taken on final draft. Test for proportion of success, Mean, S.D, t-ratio were worked out as statistical techniques. The investigator found that B.Ed students have positive attitude towards E-Learning. The student further revealed that there exists no significant difference between attitude of urban and rural, Science and Humanities and Boys and girls B.Ed students towards E-Learning.Keywords

The Indian Knitwear industry has an overwhelming contribution in the GDP of the country. Small firms are an important source of employment in India and employ a sizable share of the labour force. Ludhiana Knitwear Industry is very versatile and is manufacturing various types of products. The production workforce plays an important role in determining the quality and quantity of products being made hence, the present research is focused to find out the existing skill sets and skill gaps in production workforce of ten small scale knitwear units of Ludhiana. Data collected from 150 respondents reveal that the production labour was uneducated and lacked vocational qualification, machine knowledge and self understanding of the work. The skill gaps existed in areas pertaining to qualification, efficiency and machine knowledge.Keywords

The topic of the study was "Breaking the Myth: That Human Resource Is a Woman Centric Function". In a country like India where gender perceptions are fast changing, the objective of this study was to gather data in order to break the myth that Human Resource Management is a woman centric function and to show that it has now evolved as a function where men and women are at par. The topic was selected because Human Resource Management department is known to be the heart of an organization as it plays a key role in its establishment by recognizing the contribution of the employees towards building up the business. But there seems to be a widespread perception that human resource is a female oriented function since the qualities of an efficient human resource manager are considered to be feminine in nature. Due to this perception many a times men are discouraged from joining this field even if they are interested in it. To carry out the study, various means have been used which primarily include a detailed questionnaire to understand the opinions people possess about the human resource function. For the same 100 respondents were interviewed, 50 being working professionals and 50 being students perusing an MBA. The resultant findings state that Professionals and Students of the opinion that HR is not a women centric function and has equal opportunities for career development for both the genders. Both set of respondents feel that qualities required as an HR Professional are generic in nature and not specific to women as a group. The respondents also feel that there is a wide scope of career development in this field for both the genders.Keywords

An attempt has been made to evaluate free radical scavenging efficacy by extracts of traditionally important plant Ehretia acuminata R. Br. fruit. The extracts were analysed for antioxidants, total phenol, flavonoid. Free radical scavenging capacity was analysed in terms of ABTS, DPPH, FRAP and superoxide radial scavenging assay using five extract Petroleum ether (PE), chloroform (CH), ethyl acetate (EA), ethanol (EOL) and water (WTR). Excellent free radical scavenging ability found in ethyl acetate extract with IC50 ranged between 40 to 380 μg/ml and that of ascorbic acid (AA) was 23. Petroleum ether showed weak activity with IC50 value between 1520 to 1985. Antioxidant activity has been reported to be concomitant with development of reducing power. This shows that extracts might contain reductones like reducing sugar, ascorbic acid, thiol group containing protein which could react with free radicals to stabilize and terminate radical chain reaction. These findings advise that the promising phytonutrients of the plant could be exploited against oxidative stress, ageing, cancer, fungal infections and hormone replacement therapy rationalizing their use in traditional medicine. Total result reveals that these natural antioxidant potential of E. acuminata fruit represents a side effect-free alternative to synthetic antioxidants in the food processing industry, and use in preventive synthetic drugs.Keywords

In this paper, two single-band frequency selective surfaces (FSS) for low frequency stop and pass band with miniaturized element have been proposed. A square loop patch is constructed to realize single stop band responses. Similarly, a square with slot is constructed to realize a single pass band response at lower frequencies. Pass band is realized by slot while stop band is realized by a patch. Both pass band and stop band FSS structure having dimensions 25mm×25mm×1.605mm. FSS structures are designed and simulated using CST MWS V’16 with unit cell boundary along X and Y axis and floquet ports. Simulated results show that proposed FSS structures for both pass band and stop band are independent of angle of incidence and polarisation. Axial ratio bandwidth of the proposed FSS structure (<3dB) for bandwidth 1GHz. Equivalent circuits of the stop band and pass band FSS structures shows series and parallel combination of inductance and capacitance respectively.Keywords

Human Augmentation focuses on creating cognitive and physical improvements as an integral part of body. Human Augmentation is a field of research that aims to enhance human abilities through medicine or technology. This has historically been achieved by consuming chemical substances that improve a selected ability or by installing Implants which require medical operations. Both of these methods of augmentation can be invasive an example is using active control systems to create limb prosthetics with characteristics exceeding the normal speed, flexibility, neurological stimulation in short overall performances. Human Augmentation has been designed to fulfill everyone’s long lived desires to be faster, smarter and to build new abilities. Lately, augmented reality and multimodal interaction technologies have enabled non-invasive ways to augment human. We’ll be reviewing the past, present, future of Human Augmentation, the replicating human ability and its examples. This is followed by a summary of existing work in augmented senses, action, and cognition. Our contribution to the future includes a model for wearable augmentation. In addition, we present a call for research to realize this vision. Then, we discuss future human abilities. Wearable technologies may act as mediators for Human Augmentation, in the same manner as eyeglasses once revolutionized human vision. Non-invasive and easy-to-use wearable extensions will enable lengthening the active life for aging citizens or supporting the full inclusion of people with special needs in society, but there are also potential problems [4]..Keywords
